Toxic Free Canada's Earth Day launch

Upholstery Arts, just off Vancouver's West Broadway, was the venue and Earth Day made it the perfect occasion for the official launch of Toxic Free Canada. UA president Len Laycock has made his company the greenest in the industry with his polyurethane-free productions and environmentally-certified material and he underlined that commitment by donating his showroom for the event. Acclaimed children's entertainer and international child advocate Raffi Cavoukian wove passion and songs into his speech as he urged the audience to create a non-toxic world and a healthier environment for future generations. Trish Walsh pointed to the urgent need for cancer prevention programs, and praised the CancerSmart Consumer Guide for the example it has set. And Toxic Free Canada executive director Mae Burrows and president Jackie Larkin welcomed union activists, environmental leaders, health advocates, cancer society representatives and green business owners as they celebrated the lift-off event.
